Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev (April 15, 1894 – September 11, 1971) was a prominent Soviet leader who served as the First Secretary of the Communist Party from 1953 until 1964 and held the position of Chairman of the Council of Ministers from 1958 to 1964. He is best known for his bold denunciation of Joseph Stalin's oppressive regime, which marked the beginning of the de-Stalinization process in the Soviet Union.
