Linda Shayne
Linda Shayne is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada who has made significant contributions to the film and television industry. A graduate of UC Berkeley, her early career involved working in mental health facilities and writing insightful articles about ex-offenders from San Quentin Prison. This unique background laid the foundation for her later work as a writer and director.
Shayne has an impressive portfolio, having penned screenplays for major companies such as IMAGINE, SHOWTIME, and DISNEY, and directed projects for PARAMOUNT, NICKELODEON, and WARNER BROS. Recently, she created and directed a documentary focused on a Thai transwoman billionaire and has developed a dramedy series in collaboration with Quincy Jones and QDE. Her animated series for WARNER BROS. further showcases her versatility as a creator.
In 2022, her crime thriller screenplay won the Best Feature Screenplay award at the Florence Film Awards, and she also earned the Best Thriller award at the HRIFF. Additionally, her direction of PURPLE PEOPLE EATER, featuring talents like Ned Beatty and Neil Patrick Harris, earned actress Thora Birch a Youth in Film Award. Shayne's dedication to children's programming is evident in her Telly Award-winning work on HARD HAT HARRY and her recent children's book, illustrated by Emmy Award winner Art Leonardi. Furthermore, she translated Dord Krstic’s acclaimed non-fiction work, “Mileva and Albert Einstein: Their Love and Scientific Collaboration,” which is sold at the Einstein Museum House in Switzerland.
