Ronnie del Carmen
Ronnie del Carmen began his journey at Pixar Animation Studios in the summer of 2000, contributing his storytelling expertise to the beloved film "Finding Nemo," where he served as a story supervisor. His creative talents were also showcased in the Academy Award®-nominated short "One Man Band," where he took on the role of production designer. Del Carmen played a significant part in the success of the Oscar®-winning film "Ratatouille," focusing on story development.
He made a remarkable impact as the Head of Story for Pixar's acclaimed feature "Up," which won an Academy Award, and further solidified his reputation in animation as the co-director of the groundbreaking film "Inside Out." Del Carmen also marked his directorial debut with the short film "Dug's Special Mission," featured on the "Up" DVD and Blu-Ray release. Beyond his film work, he illustrated the children's book "My Name is Dug," penned by Kiki Thorpe, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
Originally from the Philippines, Del Carmen earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising from the University of Santo Tomas. He relocated to the United States in 1989, where he initially worked as a storyboard artist on the iconic "Batman: The Animated Series" before continuing his career as a story supervisor at DreamWorks. His contributions to animation have left a lasting legacy in the industry.
