Cal Nguyen is an accomplished actor and filmmaker whose career began in 1998, featuring in commercials, infomercials, and Hollywood productions like "Bedazzled," starring Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley. After his military service, Cal returned to the acting scene, honing his skills in workshops and quickly landing roles in short films, which ignited his passion for filmmaking.
His significant breakthrough came when he secured a leading role as "Jim Lecter" in the post-apocalyptic web series "Day Zero." Not only did he act in the series, but he also took on the role of showrunner after acquiring the script rights in 2011. The pilot episode, "Lethal," garnered eight filmmaker awards in 2012, and the series went on to complete nearly three seasons by 2019, earning over 100 nominations at various film festivals, including Telly Awards.
