Arundhati Nag, born Rao, is a celebrated South Indian actress and theatre artist renowned for her multilingual talents. With a career spanning over 25 years, she initially made her mark in Mumbai, where she worked with the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA). During this time, she participated in numerous productions across Gujarati, Marathi, and Hindi theatre and gained experience in television through director Jyoti Vyas's Gujarati series, Haji Aavti Kaal Che.

Following her marriage to Kannada actor-director Shankar Nag, who passed away in 1990, Arundhati continued her theatrical journey in Bangalore. There, she realized her late husband’s vision with the establishment of Ranga Shankara, a vibrant theatre space in J P Nagar that has since become a cornerstone of the local arts scene.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to theatre, she received the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in Theatre Acting in 2008 from India's National Academy of Music, Dance, and Theatre. Additionally, her talent in film was acknowledged when she won the best supporting actress award at the 57th National Film Awards for her remarkable performance in the film Paa. Arundhati Nag remains an influential figure in the Indian arts landscape, celebrated for her dedication to both theatre and cinema.
