Gavin Harrison
Gavin Harrison is a distinguished British drummer and percussionist, renowned for his contributions to the progressive rock genre. He became a pivotal member of the acclaimed band Porcupine Tree in 2002, where his innovative drumming style helped define their sound. In 2011, Harrison expanded his musical horizons by joining the legendary band King Crimson, further solidifying his reputation in the music industry.
An accomplished educator, Harrison has penned two notable instructional books, *Rhythmic Illusions* and *Rhythmic Perspectives*, aimed at aspiring drummers. He also produced a series of instructional DVDs, including *Rhythmic Visions* and *Rhythmic Horizons*, showcasing his techniques from his home studio. His 2010 project, *Rhythmic Designs*, features a comprehensive transcription book by Terry Branam and an extensive three-hour DVD that earned the 'Best In Show' award at the NAMM summer event in the USA.
In 2007, Harrison began a fruitful collaboration with singer and bassist 05Ric, resulting in two albums: *Drop* and *Circles* in 2009. His dual-drummer role with King Crimson saw him performing in numerous U.S. shows in August 2008.
