Henry Kendall (28 May 1897 – 9 June 1962) was a prominent English actor, renowned for his work on stage and in film, as well as his impressive skills as a theatre director and revue performer.

Born in London, Kendall received his education at the City of London School. He made his theatrical debut in September 1914 at the Lyceum Theatre, where he took on the role of a 'super' in the production of Tommy Atkins. His career was temporarily set aside during World War I, as he served with distinction as a Captain in the Royal Air Force from 1916 to 1919, earning the Royal Air Force Cross for his service.

Kendall's film career flourished in the early 1930s, with notable performances that showcased his versatility. He played the lead character, Reggie Ogden, in the 1933 film The Shadow. He also appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's film Rich and Strange (1931), which was later released in the US under the title East of Shanghai.

Throughout his career, Kendall was celebrated not only for his acting prowess but also for his impeccable style and charisma on stage, making significant contributions to the theatrical and cinematic landscapes of his time.
