Gunther Hauk

Gunther Hauk has dedicated over 35 years to the fields of education, biodynamic gardening, and beekeeping. In 1996, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Pfeiffer Center in Chestnut Ridge, New York, which focuses on the principles of biodynamic agriculture. Alongside his wife, Vivian, he founded Spikenard Farm, Inc. in 2006, a nonprofit sanctuary devoted to the preservation of honeybees, now located in Floyd, Virginia.

Throughout his career, Hauk has led numerous workshops across the United States and Canada, sharing his expertise in biodynamic gardening and sustainable beekeeping practices. His influential book, "Toward Saving the Honeybee," published in 2002, advocates for a transformative approach to beekeeping, emphasizing the urgent need for change in the way bees are managed and cared for.

His work not only highlights the critical role of bees in our ecosystem but also promotes a deeper understanding of their well-being through harmonious practices.
