Paoli Dam, born on October 4, 1980, is a prominent Indian actress renowned for her contributions to Bengali cinema and television. She embarked on her acting journey in 2003 with the popular Bengali television series *Jibon Niye Khela*, followed by roles in notable serials like *Tithir Atithi*—which enjoyed a six-year run on ETV Bangla—and *Sonar Harin*. A native of Kolkata, Paoli pursued a postgraduate degree in chemistry from Rajabazar Science College, initially aspiring to become a chemical researcher or a pilot.

Her cinematic debut was with *Teen Yaari Katha*, directed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, which took several years to reach audiences, being released in 2012. The first film she actually premiered was *Agnipariksha*, directed by Ravi Kinagi. Between 2006 and 2009, she starred in five Bengali films, gaining significant recognition for her performance in Goutam Ghose's 2009 film *Kaalbela*.
