Antony Genov
Antony Angelov Genov was a prominent Bulgarian actor, known for his contributions to both theater and film. Born on February 9, 1950, in Sofia, Bulgaria, he pursued his passion for acting at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, graduating in 1974 under the mentorship of Professor Nadezhda Seykova. Genov's career took flight at the Theatre "Tears and Laughter" in 1974, followed by a notable tenure at the National Theatre "Ivan Vazov" from 1978 to 1979, where he captivated audiences with his performances.
Throughout his career, Genov showcased his versatility by dubbing characters in various films and television series, in addition to participating in radio dramas, television recitals, and concerts. His dedication to the craft earned him a membership in the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers, solidifying his status in the industry.
Antony Genov shared his life with fellow actress Nelly Monedzhikova, and together they raised a son, Angel Genov, who followed in his father’s footsteps to become an actor as well. Genov's artistic journey came to an end on December 15, 2006, when he passed away in Sofia, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire future generations of performers in Bulgaria.
