Dwayne Johnson, also known as "The Rock," is a multifaceted American and Canadian actor, producer, and semi-retired professional wrestler associated with WWE. He has a rich heritage, being of half-Black and half-Samoan descent. His father, Rocky Johnson, a Black Canadian from Nova Scotia, made history as part of the first Black tag team champions in WWE, alongside Tony Atlas. Johnson’s mother hails from a Samoan lineage; she is the daughter of Peter Maivia, a renowned professional wrestler, and the granddaughter of Lia Maivia, a rare female promoter in wrestling who ran Polynesian Pacific Pro Wrestling after her husband's passing in 1982 until 1988. On March 29, 2008, Johnson honored his father and grandfather by inducting them into the WWE Hall of Fame.

As of 2014, Johnson splits his time between residences in Southwest Ranches, Florida, and Los Angeles, California, with a farm in Virginia. In 2009, he acquired Canadian citizenship to honor his father’s heritage. Politically, he transitioned from being a registered Republican to an independent voter after supporting Barack Obama in the 2008 and 2012 elections.

In July 2004, Johnson was awarded the noble title of Seiuli in Samoa due to his ancestral ties. He also has significant tattoos that reflect his heritage. His personal life includes a marriage to Dany Garcia in 1997, with whom he shares a daughter, Simone. After their amicable split in 2007, he began a relationship with Lauren Hashian, and they have two daughters together.

Johnson is also known for his philanthropic efforts, founding the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation, which supports at-risk and terminally ill children. He has made substantial donations to various causes, including a significant gift to the University of Miami and contributions to disaster relief efforts.
