Sunny Chen

Sunny Daydream Chen is a talented Canadian performer and artist, originally hailing from Nanjing and later raised in Langley, British Columbia. Her artistic journey began early, as she toured across Western Canada and the United States with her school choirs and concert bands. At the age of 17, Sunny relocated to Vancouver, where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English Literature at the University of British Columbia. While still a student, she gained popularity in the local arts scene through modeling for emerging designers and covering live performances for various online blogs.

Sunny's voice talents were showcased in the sci-fi adventure video game 1000xResist (2024), where she portrayed Jiao. She also delivered a remarkable performance as Ho Shee, a Chinese merchant's wife in the 1800s, in Karin Lee's period drama Ts'ekoo Cha Ke: The Girl with Big Feet, a role for which she learned to speak in Toisan and Chinook. Her filmography includes notable appearances in Cheer Squad Secrets (2020), A Million Little Things (2018), and Sunflower Girl (2023).

An accomplished songwriter, Sunny writes music in both English and Mandarin, with her work available on Spotify and Apple Music. In recognition of her rising talent, she received a national Honour from Women in Music Canada in 2023. Outside of her artistic pursuits, Sunny enjoys singing to wildlife during hikes, experimenting with various soups, and curating playlists.
