Patricia Stratigeas
Patricia Anne Stratigeas, born on December 18, 1975, is widely recognized in the wrestling world by her ring name, Trish Stratus. This Canadian professional wrestler, actress, and yoga instructor is currently associated with WWE and is celebrated as one of the greatest female wrestlers in history. Stratus emerged as a prominent figure during the Attitude Era, becoming one of WWE's most beloved stars.
Stratigeas began her career as a fitness model before transitioning to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which later evolved into World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Initially, she participated in storylines that emphasized her allure, managing teams like T & A and engaging in a scripted romance with Vince McMahon's character. However, as she honed her in-ring skills, her popularity soared, leading to significant accolades, including one reign as WWE Hardcore Champion, three titles as "WWE Babe of the Year," and the honor of "Diva of the Decade." After a successful tenure, she retired from full-time wrestling at WWE Unforgiven on September 17, 2006, after capturing her record-setting seventh WWE Women’s Championship.
Post-retirement, Stratus made sporadic appearances and took part-time wrestling roles. Her legacy was solidified when she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. She returned to the ring for the 2018 Women's Royal Rumble and competed at the groundbreaking Evolution event later that year. In 2019, she faced Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam and received the Lou Thesz Award in 2020, making history as the first woman honored. In 2021, WWE declared her the greatest female superstar of all time.
Beyond wrestling, Stratus has graced numerous magazine covers, engaged in charitable endeavors, and hosted various television programs. She formerly owned a yoga studio and served as a judge on the second season of Canada's Got Talent, which aired in 2022.
