Arthur Higelin, known professionally as Arthur H, was born on March 27, 1966, in France. Renowned as a pianist, songwriter, and singer, he has captivated audiences with his dynamic live performances, with four of his albums recorded in front of enthusiastic crowds.

Hailing from a musical lineage—his father being the celebrated singer Jacques Higelin—Arthur was influenced by a rich tapestry of sounds throughout his life. After spending time in the West Indies, he pursued music studies in Boston before settling in Paris, where he forged his unique style, blending elements of jazz, blues, Middle Eastern melodies, and tango, all while drawing inspiration from artists like Thelonious Monk and Serge Gainsbourg.

Arthur H made his performance debut in 1988. His self-titled first album released in 1990 showcased a fusion of rhythmic experimentation and bal-musette, earning him comparisons to Tom Waits. He continued to tour extensively, particularly in Japan, and followed up with his second album, *Bachibouzouk*, in 1992.

His 1996 album, *Trouble Fête*, led to a notable season at the Gymnase in Paris, resulting in the live album *Fête Trouble* in 1997. His career further flourished with *Adieu Tristesse* in 2005, his most commercially successful work, featuring collaborations with prominent artists.

Arthur H also ventured into literature with his book *Onirique attaque* in 2006 and composed film soundtracks, including for *L'homme qui rêvait d'un enfant*. His 2008 album *L'Homme du Monde* was honored as the Pop/Rock Album of the Year at La Victoire de la Musique in 2009, solidifying his status as a significant figure in modern French music.
