Bud Osborne
Bud Osborne, born on July 20, 1884, in Knox County, Texas, was a prolific American film actor whose career spanned over five decades. Active from 1912 until 1963, he made a remarkable contribution to the film industry, appearing in more than 600 movies and television shows. Osborne was particularly known for his roles in westerns, where he showcased his exceptional talent as a stage driver, making him a sought-after performer throughout his career.
Osborne's film journey began in the silent era and continued into the golden age of television. He maintained his relevance in the industry by performing stunts well into the late 1940s, including his work in Ray Enright's 1948 film, "Return of the Bad Men." As he aged, he transitioned into smaller character roles, becoming a familiar face on popular western television series such as "Have Gun – Will Travel," "Bonanza," "Bat Masterson," "Rawhide," and "The Lone Ranger."
His final performance came in 1963 with an appearance in an episode of "Gunsmoke." Bud Osborne passed away on February 2, 1964, in Hollywood, California, due to a heart attack, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated actor who graced both the silver screen and television with his enduring talent.
