Bulle Ogier, born Marie-France Thielland on August 9, 1939, is a distinguished French actress renowned for her impactful contributions to cinema. She made her screen debut in the short film Voilà l'Ordre, directed by Jacques Baratier, which featured a host of burgeoning French musical talents from the 1960s, including Boris Vian and Claude Nougaro.
Ogier's career flourished as she collaborated with several prominent filmmakers. She worked closely with Jacques Rivette on several noteworthy films, such as L'Amour fou, Céline et Julie vont en bateau, Duelle, Le Pont du Nord, and La Bande des Quatre. Additionally, she joined forces with legendary directors like Luis Buñuel in The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, as well as René Allio, Claude Lelouch, Jean-Paul Civeyrac, Claude Duty, Marguerite Duras, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, and Barbet Schroeder, among others.
Tragically, her daughter, Pascale Ogier, who also pursued acting, had her promising career cut short when she passed away just a day shy of her 26th birthday.
