Harold Diamond, widely recognized for his role as John Rambo's "stick-fighting" rival in *Rambo III*, is a celebrated figure in the realm of American Kickboxing, particularly in Florida. Originally named Harold Roth, he earned the moniker "Nature Boy" due to his distinctive long ponytail and his unique choice of blue jeans as fight attire. In the mid-1970s, he made history as the first martial artist to step into the ring for a kickboxing match on Miami Beach.
Competing at the Miami Beach Convention Center, a venue famous for hosting Muhammad Ali's victory over Sonny Liston, Roth built an astounding reputation by remaining undefeated, with all his victories coming by way of knockout. His prowess in the ring earned him a reputation as an unbeatable champion as he dominated opponents across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. In 1983, he secured a Muay Thai Championship, capping off his illustrious career with an impressive record of 17-0, all wins by knockout.
His local celebrity eventually paved the way for a career in Hollywood, prompting a name change to Harold Diamond. Nevertheless, to the fans of South Florida, he will forever be remembered as "Nature Boy" Harold Roth, a legendary kickboxer who etched his name in the annals of the sport's history.
