Saif Ali Khan, born on August 16, 1970, is a prominent Indian actor and producer in the film industry. He is the son of celebrated actress Sharmila Tagore and the former cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Khan made his acting debut in the 1993 film Parampara, directed by Yash Chopra, which did not fare well commercially. However, he gained recognition with his performances in two 1994 hits: the romantic drama Yeh Dillagi and the action flick Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Despite experiencing a dip in his career throughout much of the 1990s, his most significant success during that decade was the ensemble film Hum Saath-Saath Hain, released in 1999.

His rise to fame was solidified with standout roles in popular ensemble comedy-dramas like Dil Chahta Hai (2001) and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003).
