Chappell Roan

Chappell Roan, born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz on February 19, 1998, hails from Missouri and has made a name for herself as a singer and songwriter in the American music scene. Teaming up with producer Dan Nigro, Roan’s sound draws inspiration from the vibrant 1980s synth-pop era and the catchy melodies of early 2000s pop. Her unique artistic vision is influenced by drag culture, earning her music and performances a reputation for their campy flair.

Roan's journey began at the age of 17 when she shared her original track, "Die Young," on YouTube, which led to her signing with Atlantic Records shortly after. Her first EP, "School Nights," debuted in 2017, showcasing her burgeoning talent. However, it was her 2020 single "Pink Pony Club" that marked a significant shift in her musical direction and contributed to her growing recognition, despite her subsequent departure from Atlantic that same year.

After a brief hiatus, Roan took the independent route, releasing a series of songs in 2022 that set the stage for her debut album, "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess," which was launched under Island Records in 2023. The album received acclaim and featured on numerous year-end best-album lists. In early 2024, Roan opened for Olivia Rodrigo on her Guts World Tour and performed at Coachella, propelling her further into the spotlight.
