Effie Lavore
Effie Lavore, born Bethany Love Orr, hails from Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she grew up in a home-schooled environment with limited access to mainstream media. It was during her high school years that she discovered her passion for theatre and film, joining the traveling improv troupe Theatrical Garbage. She quickly made a name for herself, becoming the youngest comedienne to perform regularly at her local comedy club. Although Lavore earned a science degree from the University of Colorado with aspirations to attend medical school, she ultimately chose to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Lavore's impressive body of work includes appearances on popular television series such as Criminal Minds and Stalker, along with various film and web projects. In 2012, she made her directorial debut with the original short film Agorable. Her subsequent short film, Winner, was produced in just seven days for a mere $100 and garnered $10,000 in prizes at the inaugural Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge Fest in Hollywood. Lavore had the honor of being selected to study under the renowned director Werner Herzog at his Rogue Film School. Additionally, she was a participant in the Transatlantic Talent Lab, a pioneering incubator for first-time feature filmmakers in Iceland.
Continuing to make strides in the industry, Lavore wrote, directed, and starred in the feature film Excess Flesh, which premiered at SXSW in 2015.
