Tutta Rolf

Tutta Rolf, originally named Solveig Jenny Berntzen, was a talented Norwegian-Swedish actress and singer whose career spanned several decades. She began her journey in the performing arts with her stage debut in 1923 in Kristiania, now Oslo. Her transition to Sweden came in 1928, where she gained significant recognition thanks to the support of the renowned writer and performer Ernst Rolf, who played a pivotal role in elevating her career.

The 1930s marked a significant turning point for Tutta, as she emerged as a prominent figure in the film industry, captivating audiences with her performances in chic comedies. In 1935, she signed a contract with Fox Film, further solidifying her status as a film star. Throughout her career, Rolf was celebrated for her vibrant presence both on stage and screen, showcasing her versatility as an entertainer.

In her personal life, Tutta experienced three marriages, first tying the knot with Ernst Rolf from 1930 to 1932. She then wed American director Jack Donohue in 1936, a partnership that lasted until 1950. Her final marriage was to Swedish director and actor Hasse Ekman, which spanned from 1953 until 1972. Rolf's legacy in the entertainment world remains influential, highlighting her contributions to both stage and cinema.
