Timothy Julian Brooke-Taylor OBE (17 July 1940 – 12 April 2020) was a celebrated English actor and comedian, renowned primarily for his role in the iconic comedy trio, The Goodies.

Brooke-Taylor's comedic journey began during his time at the University of Cambridge, where he actively participated in sketch performances and served as president of the esteemed Footlights drama club. His comedic talents shone through in 1964, when he toured internationally with the Footlights revue, setting the stage for his future successes. He gained significant public attention through BBC Radio's "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again," which showcased his sharp wit and humor.

Transitioning to television, he collaborated with fellow Cambridge alumni John Cleese and Graham Chapman in "At Last the 1948 Show." However, it was his work alongside Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie in "The Goodies" (1970–1982) that catapulted him to fame, earning him a devoted following in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Over the years, Brooke-Taylor showcased his versatility by appearing in various sitcoms and was a beloved panellist on BBC Radio's "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" for nearly five decades, contributing to the show's enduring popularity.
