Grand Corps Malade

Fabien Marsaud, better known as Grand Corps Malade (GCM), was born on July 31, 1977, in Le Blanc-Mesnil, Seine-Saint-Denis, France. He is a renowned French slam poet and lyricist who has captivated audiences with his poignant storytelling through music. GCM began his artistic journey in 2003 by writing and performing at slam poetry events, leading to a record deal with Universal's AZ label in 2006. His debut album, *Midi 20*, quickly became a bestseller, marking him as a significant figure in the French music scene.

Over the years, Grand Corps Malade has released seven studio albums, all of which have charted in the top five of the French SNEP chart. His notable works include *Enfant de la ville* (2008), *3ème temps* (2010), and the family-themed *Funambule* (2013). His 2015 album, *Il nous restera ça*, featured collaborations with various artists, showcasing his versatility. The critically acclaimed *Plan B* (2018) peaked at number two, while *Mesdames* (2020), highlighted by the hit duet "Mais je t'aime" with Camille Lellouche, topped the French charts.

GCM's achievements are underscored by three Victories of Music, awarded by the French Ministry of Culture. His stage name translates to "tall, sick body," a nod to his height of nearly 6'4" and the spinal injury he suffered in a diving accident in 1997. Despite being initially told he would never walk again, he persevered, regaining mobility after intense rehabilitation. Marsaud holds a DESS master's degree in sport management and previously worked in marketing before fully dedicating himself to music.
