Shani Wallis

Shani Wallis, born on April 14, 1933, in Tottenham, London, is a distinguished English actress and singer renowned for her contributions to the entertainment industry during the 1950s and beyond. She began performing at a remarkably young age, taking the stage for the first time at just four years old. Wallis honed her craft at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where she was awarded a scholarship.

Wallis gained acclaim for her prominent roles in London's West End, but she is perhaps most celebrated for her portrayal of Nancy in the acclaimed 1968 film adaptation of Lionel Bart's musical, *Oliver!* Directed by Carol Reed, the film featured notable talents such as Ron Moody, Harry Secombe, and Oliver Reed. Throughout her career, Wallis shared the stage with legendary performers including Liberace, Jack Benny, and Dean Martin, showcasing her versatility as an entertainer.

A naturalized citizen of the United States, Wallis has resided there for many years. She married her agent and manager, Bernie Rich, on September 13, 1968, a date she considers fortunate, as she believes that luck follows her on Friday the 13th. The couple has one daughter, Rebecca, and two granddaughters.
