K. Manikandan is a multifaceted talent in the Tamil film industry, known for his work as a writer, actor, and director. His journey in entertainment took off after he participated in a well-known reality comedy show, where he impressively secured the runner-up position. Following this exposure, he transitioned to radio, becoming a Radio Jockey for an FM channel, while also lending his voice to various films and television shows.

Manikandan's writing career kicked off with the horror film Pizza II: Villa in 2013. His acting debut came in 2015 with India Pakistan, and he later appeared in a supporting role in Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum (2016), directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. He garnered attention for portraying an antagonist in Sri Ganesh's directorial debut, 8 Thottakkal (2017), sharing the screen with M. S. Bhaskar and Lallu. In the same year, he contributed dialogue for the critically acclaimed film Vikram Vedha, in which he also played a police constable.

Manikandan continued to expand his repertoire by collaborating with renowned director Pa. Ranjith for the film Kaala (2018) and working as a dialogue writer on Viswasam and Thambi (2019). He starred opposite Nivedithaa Sathish in the romantic anthology Sillu Karupatti (2019), directed by Halitha Shameem.

In addition to his work in front of and behind the camera, Manikandan directed the independent film Narai Ezhuthum Suyasaritham (Endless), which starred Delhi Ganesh and himself. This film was recognized at the Bengaluru International Film Festival (2016) and was one of four selected for screening at the 16th New York Indian Film Festival (2016).
