Kalama Epstein, born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii, is the youngest of three siblings, and his name translates to "flaming torch" in Hawaiian. From an early age, he was immersed in the world of performance, modeling since infancy and developing a deep-seated enthusiasm for film and filmmaking. His passion for acting ignited when he appeared in an episode of the popular series Hawaii Five-0 in 2010, which paved the way for his career in front of the camera.

After relocating to Los Angeles to pursue his ambitions, Kalama quickly made a name for himself. He starred in the Amazon Studios pilot Maker Shack Agency in 2014 and played significant roles in Nickelodeon's Deadtime Stories (2012) and the feature film Under the Blood-Red Sun (2014).
