Kelton Jones
Kelton Jones is a multifaceted talent in the film industry, excelling as an actor, director, producer, screenwriter, and cinematographer. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art from Stephen F. Austin State University, where he honed his craft in film and theatre. His early career saw him working in the camera and lighting departments on various films and television shows in Dallas and Houston, including notable projects like "Walker Texas Ranger," "Wishbone," and Wes Anderson's "Bottle Rocket."
In the 1990s, Kelton relocated to Los Angeles, where he advanced to roles as a cinematographer and producer. His significant break came when he worked on Mel Gibson's ambitious project, "The Passion of the Christ," focusing on special effects, miniatures, and makeup. Subsequently, he produced and served as a cinematographer for the action comedy "Hot Guys With Guns," which garnered positive reviews from both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter and was selected as the closing film for Outfest.
Kelton has directed numerous short films before releasing his debut feature, "Dry Blood," through Epic Pictures in 2019. The film received widespread acclaim on the festival circuit, winning several accolades for Best Feature and Best Director. Additionally, he has crafted documentaries, collaborating with renowned figures like filmmaker Robert Zemeckis and rapper Ice-T.
Continuing his education in acting and directing, Kelton has studied under industry luminaries such as Mark Travis and Sean S. Cunningham, and has trained in the Meisner Technique with Joanne Baron and DW Brown. He also shares his knowledge as a film teacher and acting coach, having taught at institutions like Colorado University in Denver and the Young Actors Theatre Camp in Santa Cruz.
