Magda Vizcaíno

Magda Vizcaíno, born to the esteemed writer José de Jesús Vizcaíno, emerged as a prominent figure in the Mexican entertainment landscape. With a rich legacy in radio, her voice has become synonymous with institutions like Radio UNAM, Radio Educación, IMER, XEW, and XEQ, marking the beginning of her illustrious career.

She pursued her education at INBA and CUT, eventually joining the National Theater Company of UNAM. During the mid-1960s, she captivated audiences across Europe with acclaimed productions such as *Divinas Palabras*, directed by Juan Ibáñez, and *Olímpica*, under the direction of Héctor Azar. Her performance in *La Ronda de las Arpías* earned her the Best Supporting Actress award in 1991, showcasing her talent in numerous theatrical productions.

Vizcaíno's television career took off with a storytelling role on a popular Sunday program on Channel Five. She later appeared in various teletheaters, soap operas, and educational shows, including notable titles like *Santa* and *Fonda Susilla*.

In film, her early works included *Para servir a usted*, *Maten al león*, and *Los indolentes*. She lent her voice to the poignant documentary *El grito, México 1968*, and her performance in *Martha*, directed by Marcelino Islas, garnered her the Ariel Award for Best Actress after its premiere at the Venice Critics' Week. In 2019, Vizcaíno made headlines by portraying an LGBT+ character in *Encuentro*, solidifying her status as a trailblazer in the industry.
