Guido Quaroni
Guido Quaroni embarked on his professional journey at Pixar Animation Studios in January 1997. His early work involved modeling, rigging, and shading for "Toy Story 2," followed by contributions in effects for the film. Quaroni advanced to become the sequence supervisor for the shots department in "Monsters, Inc.," focusing on hair and effects technology. He later took on a leadership role in the Software Research and Development team, spearheading the asset/shading pipeline and later managing the Production Engineering team.
In January 2007, Quaroni served as the supervising technical director for the Oscar-winning film "Toy Story 3," where he played a crucial role in defining its technology, shaping the production pipeline, and overseeing technical teams. He also contributed as Supervising Technical Director for "Monsters University."
By May 2011, Quaroni was promoted to Vice President of Software R&D, where he oversees the studio's graphics and animation software, including the acclaimed "Presto," which won an Academy Award®.
In addition to his technical expertise, Quaroni lent his voice to the character Guido, the Italian forklift, in the Golden Globe®-winning film "Cars," reprising this role in its sequels, "Cars 2" (2011) and "Cars 3" (2017). Growing up in Italy and studying in Milan, Quaroni moved to Vicenza in 1993, driven by a passion for animation and inspired by Pixar's early works, particularly "Luxo, Jr."
