Robert Urquhart (16 October 1921 – 21 March 1995) was a distinguished Scottish character actor renowned for his contributions to British television throughout his career. Born in Ullapool, Scotland, Urquhart received his education at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh before making his stage debut in 1947.

Throughout his extensive career, Urquhart became a familiar face in numerous detective and special-agent series. His notable appearances included roles in iconic shows such as "Department S," "Callan," "The Professionals," "Man in a Suitcase," and "The Avengers." He also shared the screen with Patrick McGoohan in the memorable 1965 episode of "Danger Man" titled "English Lady Takes Lodgers." In addition, he starred in the short-lived 1961 production "Jango," produced by Associated Rediffusion, where he played the lead role.

Urquhart's film debut came in 1952 with the comedy "You're Only Young Twice." His talent and versatility allowed him to captivate audiences across various genres throughout his career. Sadly, he passed away in Edinburgh on 21 March 1995, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances that continue to be celebrated in British television history.
