Yoon Jeong-hee

Yoon Jeong-hee (July 30, 1944 - January 19, 2023) was a prominent South Korean actress celebrated for her significant contributions to the film industry. She made her acting debut in 1967 with the film *Cheongchun geukjang*, directed by Gang Dae-jin, after being selected through a recruitment initiative by Hapdong Film. During the 1960s, she was recognized as part of the "Troika," alongside fellow actresses Moon Hee and Nam Jeong-im, a trio that defined an era in Korean cinema.

In 1974, Yoon married renowned pianist Kun-Woo Paik, and together they welcomed a daughter who pursued a career as a violinist. Following her retirement in the mid-1990s, Yoon relocated to Paris, France, where she lived with her family. Despite her hiatus from acting, Yoon made a remarkable return to the screen in 2010, starring in Lee Chang-dong's acclaimed film *Poetry*. The film garnered the prestigious Best Screenplay Award at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, marking a triumphant comeback for Yoon.

Throughout her career, Yoon Jeong-hee left an indelible mark on the South Korean film landscape, with her performances resonating with audiences and critics alike, solidifying her legacy as one of the nation's beloved actresses.
