Milo Cawthorne, born in Whangarei, New Zealand, found his passion for acting during his childhood, participating in various community theatre productions. His early talents caught the attention of television producers, and he appeared in numerous children's programs, notably playing Evan in "P.E.T. Detectives" (2003). Cawthorne's theatrical journey took him to the Globe Theatre in London, where he performed with New Zealand's Young Shakespeare Company.

After an unsuccessful attempt to enroll in drama school and spending a year as a pizza delivery driver, he seized a significant opportunity by portraying Ziggy Grover, the Ranger Operator Series Green, in "Power Rangers RPM" (2009). This role introduced him to a wider audience and marked a turning point in his career. Subsequently, he returned to the stage, starring in productions like "The History Boys" (2009) with the Peach Theatre Company and "360" (2010) for the New Zealand International Arts Festival, along with an appearance in the miniseries "Underbelly NZ: Land of the Long Green Cloud" (2011).

In late 2011, Cawthorne relocated to Los Angeles, where he worked on the indie horror film "Blood Punch" (2013), which earned the Audience Award at the Austin Film Festival. He also featured in various short films, such as "Andy" (2011) and "I Love L.A." (2013). Returning to New Zealand, he reprised his role in "360: A Theatre of Recollections" (2014) and took on a leading role in the miniseries "When We Go To War" (2014) and the Auckland Theatre Company’s "Once On Chunuk Bair" (2014).
