A$AP Rocky
Rakim Athelaston Mayers, professionally recognized as A$AP Rocky (pronounced AY-sap), was born on October 3, 1988. He is an American rapper, music producer, and record executive. Hailing from Harlem, Rocky began his journey in the music scene as a part of the hip-hop collective A$AP Mob, which is where he derived his stage name. In August 2011, his track "Peso" was leaked online, quickly garnering significant radio attention shortly thereafter. Later that same year, Rocky released his first mixtape, Live. Love. A$AP, which received widespread acclaim from critics. This project, often regarded as his breakout endeavor, paved the way for a collaborative record deal with Polo Grounds Music, RCA Records, and Sony Music Entertainment.
