Wayne Farris

Roy Wayne Farris, widely recognized as The Honky Tonk Man, is an iconic figure in the world of professional wrestling. Born in the United States, Farris graduated from the University of Memphis in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Before stepping into the wrestling ring, he spent two years coaching high school football at Munford High School in Munford, Tennessee.

Farris made a name for himself in the wrestling industry, competing in both World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now known as WWE. His most memorable tenure was with WWF, where he achieved a remarkable milestone by holding the WWF Intercontinental Championship for an unprecedented 64 weeks. This record reign ended when he lost the title to the Ultimate Warrior during the inaugural SummerSlam pay-per-view event.

Throughout his career, The Honky Tonk Man has become renowned for his flamboyant persona and entertaining performances. He is also known for his familial connection to Jerry "The King" Lawler, a fellow professional wrestler and color commentator.
