Avan Jogia
Avan Tudor Jogia (pronounced /ˈævən ˈdʒoʊɡiə/; born February 9, 1992) is a multi-talented Canadian actor, singer, author, and director. He gained early recognition for his role as Danny Araujo in the television film *A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story* (2006). After relocating to the United States in his late teens, he took on several television roles, including appearances in *Caprica* (2009–2010) and the popular series *Victorious* (2010–2013).
Jogia became widely recognized for his performances as Danny Desai in the drama series *Twisted* (2013), Tutankhamun in the miniseries *Tut* (2015), Roman Mercer in the supernatural series *Ghost Wars* (2017–2018), and Ulysses Zane in the comedy show *Now Apocalypse* (2019). His film credits include projects such as *Spectacular!* (2009), *Finding Hope Now* (2010), *Rags* (2012), *Ten Thousand Saints* (2015), *I Am Michael* (2015), and *Zombieland: Double Tap* (2019). He made his directorial debut with the short film *Alex* in 2011 and portrayed Leon S. Kennedy in *Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City* (2021).
In 2011, he co-founded the LGBT organization Straight But Not Narrow to promote acceptance and understanding towards the community. Jogia published his first book, *Mixed Feelings*, a collection of stories and poems reflecting multiracial identity, in 2019, and is set to release his second poetry book, *Autopsy (Of an Ex-Teen Heartthrob): Poems of Love, Rage, Sex and Sadness*, on February 11
