Regimantas Adomaitis

Regimantas Adomaitis, born on January 31, 1937, in Šiauliai, Lithuania, is a distinguished actor celebrated for his contributions to film and theater across Lithuania, Germany, Russia, and beyond.

Adomaitis began his academic journey at Vilnius University, earning a degree in Physics and Mathematics, before channeling his passion for the performing arts through studies at the Vilnius Conservatoire. His versatility as an actor has made him a prominent figure in the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, where he continues to showcase his talent.

In 1985, he was honored to serve on the jury for the prestigious 35th Berlin International Film Festival, reflecting his significant standing in the cinematic community. Beyond his artistic endeavors, Adomaitis played a crucial role in Lithuania's political landscape; in 1988, he was one of the founding members of the Sąjūdis Reform Movement, a pivotal force in the country’s journey toward independence, culminating in Lithuania's declaration of sovereignty on March 11, 1990.
