Marcus Paul Blucas is an accomplished American actor, celebrated for his portrayal of Riley Finn on the iconic series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as Matthew Donnelly in Necessary Roughness and abolitionist John Hawkes in the historical drama Underground. Before venturing into acting, Blucas was a talented basketball player, competing for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Blucas made his acting debut in the 1995 television movie Inflammable, paving the way for a diverse career in both film and television. He showcased his athletic prowess in Gary Ross's 1998 film Pleasantville, where he played the role of the Basketball Hero. However, it was his breakthrough role in 1999 as Agent Riley Finn in Buffy the Vampire Slayer that marked a significant turning point in his career. Initially doubting his audition, Blucas left feeling he had wasted the time of creator Joss Whedon. To his surprise, Whedon invited him to audition again, leading to his casting just two weeks later.
