Hilda Koronel

Hilda Koronel, born Susan Reid on January 17, 1957, is a celebrated Filipino actress renowned for her exceptional talent and versatility. Her journey in the film industry began at an early age when the acclaimed director Lino Brocka recognized her potential and cast her in a weekly drama series titled "Hilda." This opportunity marked the start of a remarkable career, leading her to become the youngest recipient of the FAMAS Best Supporting Actress award in 1970, winning at just 13 years old for her performance in the film "Santiago!."

Throughout the mid-1970s, Koronel solidified her status as a leading actress in Philippine cinema with her roles in Lino Brocka's masterpieces, "Manila in the Claws of Light" (1975) and "Insiang" (1976). Both films received critical acclaim, with "Manila in the Claws of Light" garnering six FAMAS awards and "Insiang" winning both a FAMAS and a Gawad Urian Award.
