Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe is a Canadian actress celebrated for her prominent roles in the horror genre. She gained attention as a scream queen with performances in films such as Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001), Final Destination 3 (2006), Black Christmas (2006), and Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007). Additionally, she portrays Rita Haywith in Hallmark Channel's series and film franchise, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, which began airing in 2013.
Born Yan-Kay Lo in Vancouver, British Columbia, Lowe has a diverse heritage with a Scottish mother and a Chinese father from Hong Kong. After spending part of her childhood in Hong Kong, she returned to Canada, where her passion for acting emerged at the tender age of five.
Lowe's career commenced in modeling, transitioning to acting with her debut role as Nya in an episode of Stargate SG-1 at the age of 15. She made guest appearances on various popular series, including Masters of Horror, Psych, and Supernatural. Her film career took off with a role in Get Carter (2000), followed by her breakout in Children of the Corn: Revelation.
