Ashley Leggat
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and holds Scottish and Irish heritage from her mother’s side. Her journey into the performing arts began at a young age when she enrolled in the Performing Arts Program at Theatre Aquarius, guided by Lou Zamprogna. It was here that she made her professional debut, portraying Marta in their production of The Sound of Music.
Following her debut, Leggat showcased her versatility and talent in numerous productions with Theatre Aquarius. She captivated audiences in roles such as Lucy in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Cinderella in the classic fairytale, and Anne in Anne of Green Gables. Her performances extended to other notable works, including Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, Jekyll and Hyde, and The Wizard of Oz, further establishing her presence in the theatre community. Additionally, she took on the role of Clara in the beloved ballet, The Nutcracker, at the Hamilton Place Theatre.
Leggat’s early dedication to the performing arts laid the foundation for a successful career in both theater and television, where she would later gain recognition for her roles in various series and films. Her commitment to her craft continues to inspire aspiring actors and performers across Canada.
