Her journey in voice acting began to take shape in 2016 when she was still a high school sophomore. That year, she earned the prestigious top prize at the 5th International Voice Actor Contest Seiyu Damashii, also known as Seidama, showcasing her remarkable talent and potential in the industry. Following her success, she honed her skills at the Nihon Narration Engi Kenkyūjo (Japan Narration Acting Institute), solidifying her foundation in voice acting.
Kusumi's career reached a new milestone in 2022 when she landed her first lead role in a television anime as Hiyori Uminami in the series "Slow Loop." This performance marked a significant achievement in her career, highlighting her versatility and dedication as a voice actress.
