Eric Kot Man-Fai, also known in Chinese as 葛民輝, was born on December 30, 1966. He is a prominent figure in Hong Kong's entertainment scene, excelling as a radio presenter, actor, and director. He gained recognition as the "Soft Taoist Priest" in the musical group Soft Hard, which has garnered significant popularity in the region. Kot commenced his radio career in March 1988 at a commercial station and co-founded the group Soft Hard alongside Jan Lamb that same year. His distinctive and humorous traffic updates on the "Street Angel" program quickly earned him a devoted audience.

In 1989, Kot expanded his horizons by entering the film industry, which allowed him to branch out into television as well. He created and hosted various notable programs, including "Peculiar DJs Peculiar Show" and its sequel. Over the years, Eric Kot has been involved in the production of over sixty films. After concluding his eight-year tenure in radio in 1996, he immersed himself more deeply in filmmaking. He formed a notable partnership with acclaimed producer Wong Kar-wai, contributing to projects such as "First Love: The Litter on the Breeze" and taking the director's chair for films like "Four Faces of Eve" and "First Love: The Litter on the Breeze."
