Singampuli
Singampuli is a prominent Tamil film actor and director, best known for his supporting roles in various movies. Hailing from Theni, Periyakulam, he pursued engineering in Bangalore before moving to Chennai to chase his dream in the film industry.
His career took a significant turn while working as an assistant director to Sundar C, where he played a pivotal role in conceiving the original plot of the film *Unnaithedi*. Within a week, Sundar crafted the screenplay, and after a preliminary discussion with actor Ajith Kumar, who was initially skeptical, they went ahead with the romantic drama. This collaboration led to Ajith starring in *Red* (2002), a film centered around a revolutionary from Madurai. Although the movie received mixed reviews and had a modest box office performance, it eventually garnered a cult following among Ajith's fans.
In 2005, Singampuli directed the comedy *Maayavi*, which featured popular actors Suriya and Jyothika, and earned him considerable praise for its engaging storytelling. His talent was further recognized when director Bala cast him in the 2009 film *Naan Kadavul*, where he portrayed a beggar, marking his transition into noteworthy supporting roles. Since then, Singampuli has appeared in numerous films, solidifying his presence in the Tamil film industry.
