Darshan Kumaar hails from a Jaat family in the quaint village of Kishan Garh, located in South Delhi. At the youthful age of 24, he relocated to Mumbai, where he immersed himself in the vibrant theatre scene, joining the Sahej theatre group for five years. His journey in the performing arts took a significant turn when he became associated with Motley Productions, where he had the privilege of learning from the esteemed actor Naseeruddin Shah for a decade.

Kumaar's entry into the film industry was marked by a pivotal audition for the biographical sports drama "Mary Kom," directed by Omung Kumar. This film, showcasing the life of the renowned boxer, starred Priyanka Chopra and provided a significant platform for Kumaar. Although his feature film debut was in "NH10," alongside Anushka Sharma, "Mary Kom" was released first, garnering attention for his compelling performance.
