Fatma Karanfil

Fatma Karanfil (February 3, 1952 - June 4, 2024) was a celebrated Turkish actress whose work spanned theater, film, and television. Her journey in the performing arts began in 1968 when she gained recognition by securing third place in the prestigious Ses magazine competition, leading her to embark on a cinematic career. In 1975, she married Ali Kocatepe, although the couple later parted ways.

Karanfil sought to further her education in London, where she pursued textile studies from 1976 to 1980 amid the burgeoning adult film industry. She later remarried in 1984, marking a new chapter in her life.

Despite facing significant health challenges, including a battle with breast cancer, Karanfil demonstrated remarkable resilience. In 2001, she triumphantly returned to the stage, reaffirming her passion for acting and her dedication to the craft.
