Betty Lawford (February 1, 1912 – November 20, 1960) was an accomplished English actress who made her mark in both film and theater in the United States. Born to actors Ernest Lawford and Janet Slater Lawford, she was also related to the well-known actor and socialite, Peter Lawford.

Lawford's theatrical journey began with a production of Henry IV at the Players' Club, which paved the way for her subsequent roles in classics such as Julius Caesar and The Lady Lies. She graced the Broadway stage with significant performances in several productions, including Glamour Preferred and Walk With Music, both in 1940. Additionally, her credits spanned notable works like The Women (1936), There’s Wisdom in Women (1935), Heat Wave (1931), and the earlier The Lady Lies (1928) and King Henry IV, Part I (1926).

In her personal life, she had a brief marriage to American actor and director Monta Bell. Lawford's life came to an untimely end at Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, where she succumbed to an illness after a three-week battle. Despite her passing, her contributions to theater and film continue to be remembered and celebrated.
