Ato Essandoh, born on July 29, 1972, in Schenectady, New York, is a distinguished American actor known for his contributions to both television and film. He completed his secondary education at New Rochelle High School in 1990 before pursuing higher education at Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering.
In addition to his acting career, Essandoh is a talented playwright, recognized for his work "Black Thang," which was included in the anthology "Plays and Playwrights 2003." His passion for performance led him to study acting at the esteemed Acting Studio in New York City.
Essandoh is also a co-founder of The Defiant Ones, a creative group dedicated to writing and performance. He has deep roots that trace back to Ghana, West Africa, through his parents, which enriches his artistic perspective.
