Philip Delancy, born to a French mother and an English father, holds dual nationality and is fluent in both English and French. His journey into the performing arts began in 1965 with a primary school stage performance, which earned him a scholarship to The Haberdashers' Aske's School in Elstree. Early in his career, he made his television debut as a winner on the BBC show "Crackerjack," and at 17, he earned his pilot's license through an RAF Flying Scholarship.
Before transitioning to acting in 1994, Philip explored various professions, including flying instructor, airline pilot, VIP handling agent, legal interpreter, encyclopaedia salesperson, and customer service manager. He obtained his Equity Card in 1997 after honing his skills through short courses at The Actor's Centre and RADA, alongside private lessons funded by selling televisions and data inputting.
In 1999, he returned to his aviation roots, portraying a "Naboo Pilot" in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace." His distinct French accent opened doors to numerous television opportunities, culminating in appearances in five feature films and various shorts since 2008, including lead roles.
Philip's diverse experiences led him to undertake a unique role as an undercover multi-millionaire for Rolls-Royce during a 2004 Newcastle tour. Additionally, he founded a project in 2003 aimed at supporting disaffected young adults in developing interview skills. Currently, he is also focused on completing a book he has been writing since 1981.
