Norman Chappell
Norman Chappell (31 December 1925 – 21 July 1983) was a distinguished English character actor celebrated for his extensive work in television and film. Born in Lucknow, India during the British Raj, Chappell developed a talent for embodying quirky and humorous characters, often leaning towards light-hearted comedy.
Throughout his career, he became particularly recognized for his contributions to the iconic Carry On film series, where his comedic timing and portrayal of eccentric characters left a lasting impression. Chappell also made notable appearances in the classic British television series The Avengers, featuring in five memorable episodes, including "Dead of Winter," "The Gilded Cage," "Dial A Deadly Number," "Dance with Death," and "Fog."
