Omar M. Gooding, born on October 19, 1976, is a notable American actor recognized for his diverse contributions to film and television. He is the younger sibling of renowned actor Cuba Gooding, Jr., and the son of singer Cuba Gooding, Sr.

Gooding gained popularity through his roles in several television series, including iconic shows like "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper," "Smart Guy," and "Playmakers." He also showcased his talent in films such as "Ghost Dad" and "Baby Boy." One of his early successes was as a co-host on the Nickelodeon show "Wild and Crazy Kids," which aired from 1990 to 1992. In 2003, he portrayed D.H., a running back, in the ESPN series "Playmakers," further cementing his versatility as an actor. Additionally, he took on the character Odell in the third season of the acclaimed series "Deadwood."

In 2005, Gooding became known for his role as Calvin Palmer, Jr., a barber in Showtime's "Barbershop: The Series," which was inspired by the 2002 film.
